Frequently Asked Questions
About Tissue Culture Plants
What is a tissue culture (TC) plant?
A TC plant is grown in a sterile, nutrient-rich environment and shipped in a sealed vessel.
This method produces clean, vigorous plants with strong genetic consistency.
Why are the plants so cheap?
Because they are sold directly from tissue culture, before acclimation.
TC plants grow in sterile vessels, allowing multiple clones from a single parent plant — keeping costs low.
You’re not paying for: – Months of acclimation – Potting mix, pots, or greenhouse space – Retail nursery markups
They may arrive small, but they are genetically identical to mature, rare plants that often sell for £50–£300 once fully grown.
Selling TC plants helps make rare and expensive varieties affordable, accessible, and pest-free for collectors.
Why do the plants look small?
TC plants are juvenile. This is normal—once acclimated, they grow quickly.
Do I need to acclimate the plants?
Yes. All TC plants require gradual acclimation to normal humidity and light levels.
A free instruction card is included, and acclimation kits are available.

Every home environment differs, so success cannot be guaranteed.

Increase light slowly to avoid burn.
